Audio
The audio part is inspired by CGP Grey and Map Men’s education video. It’s about San Po Kong, an area of the Wong Tai Sin district. The speech part, although high quality, it lacks depth. Originally, the speech was recorded alongside with the background noises, the microphone was unable to record my speech clearly, so I resulted to re-record the speech in my room, I believe I could improve the speech aspect. I think I have done well in the background noise aspect. I think the background music I choose isn’t distracting, the sound effects reflect the part the audio was in. The script, I think it serves its purpose, but I think I can improve by adding time codes to improve pacing.
Video Production
The video production portion is a parody of Jay and Mark‘s “Unfinished London” series. It’s about Tsz Wan Shan, an area of the Wong Tai Sin district. The video uses cowboy shots, long shots, medium shots, wide shots, close-ups, fixed shots, panning shots, and tracking shots. The monologue part’s a part of the audio I failed to sync with the video and some of the audio is unusable resulting to re-record under a different environment, also the volume of the monologue is quite low, I need to improve the audio aspect. I think the editing I have done is good, compressing a great deal of content and able to retain people attention. Another aspect I think I can improve is the map infographic section to add more dialogue.
Creative Writing
The creative writing content part is a presumed script for an educational video. It’s about Diamond Hill and, extensionally Tai Hom Village, an area of the Wong Tai Sin district. The script in hindsight, I could add extra information like video shooting location, editing tone, adjustments and style. The aspect I think I did well is the information and history I gathered thanks to the recently opened Diamond Hill Water Feature Park, making the script packed with facts and hidden history that many people won’t know. Another aspect I think I can improve is the transition from the history section to landmark introduction section, perhaps script a little comedic bit like the video section.
Web Content Creation
The Web Content Creation part, it composes of three mood boards about the audio, video production and creative writing content part.
The audio one’s mood board is about San Po Kong, 3 of the 8 streets of San Po Kong’s street sign, the red bucket as San Po Kong is one of the last place in Hong Kong to have a plastic factory, the river is the Kai Tak River which is located in San Po Kong, the things in the mood board references the comedic bits featured in the audio.
The video production one’s mood board is about Tsz Wan Shan, the background is the Kwun Yam Buddhist Temple which that place is named after, the footbridge system’s picture and map, the man is Jay Foreman the creator of Unfinished London which inspired this video.
The writing one’s mood board is about Diamond Hill, the background is the old picture of Diamond Hill when the mines still exist, the crossed out diamonds referencing there are no diamonds in Diamond Hill, the sign is the sign of Tai Hom Village, the Stone House and the machine gun bunker are part of the three treasures of Tai Hom.
I could improve this by taking actual photos of the items, if it is possible.
